A Call of Composition for International Students 

The 6th New Music Week of Shanghai Conservatory of Music 2013

Five entries will be selected by three composers and professors: Xu Shuya, Ye Guohui, Wen Deqing and Mivos String Quartet. 

The Final concert will be held at 3:00 p.m. 16th October. 2013 at the North Bulding Hall of Shanghai Conservatory of Music by By Mivos String Quartet of America. Three famous professors who are the festival residence composers Jörg Windmann, Luo Zhongrong and Qin Wenchen will give their comments on the five selected pieces at the Master-Class for International Students Works Concert.

New Music Week will provide necessary accommodations for the selected finalists, along with all the tickets of concerts and lectures during the period of 11th - 16th Oct. 2013 (the participants who are from places outside of Shanghai or overseas will pay their own travel tickets). 

Rules for Eligibility:

1. The candidates must be students at the time applying (no nationality or age limited) and only one work for each participant to submit. 

2. The submitted work must be within 5-7 minutes in duration.

3. The entry work must be composed after 2012 for String Quartet. 

4. The participant must provide the full score, part score in PDF and scan for your Student ID, photograph, phone-number, Email, postal address, the biography of composer and introduction of composition which are in Chinese or English and each should be within 100 words to This email address is being protected from spambots. 5. All the selected finalists must be sure to participate the rehearsal and attend the concert. 

6. All the selected finalists of Edition 2012 are not eligible for submissions for the call of edition 2013
